I have worked on this project on a daily basis for years, spending hours and hours collaborating with other members of the LGBTQ+ community whenever possible. It has been an absolute labor of love, and I believe I have done everything possible to not only present very real characters with very real lives and situations, but to also give those young adults, especially ones who are questioning their own identities, realistic role models.

As a Latinx, queer, and gender-expansive writer, my creative work is deeply rooted in the pursuit of visibility, belonging, and emotional truth. I write stories that center characters who live between identities (cultural, linguistic, or gendered) because that has always been where I’ve felt most comfortable and at home. My book series, The Bunny Trail, emerged from my years living and teaching in Florence, Italy, where I worked with students from across the globe and saw firsthand the power of storytelling to build empathy and connection. These novels reflect not only my love of place and language, but also my commitment to exploring the complexities of friendship, identity, and queer self-discovery. I believe young people deserve narratives that are both honest and hopeful—stories that meet them where they are and give them permission to grow. My artistic practice is also shaped by my background as a former college instructor in Writing & Thinking and Communications. Teaching across Asia, Europe, and the Americas helped me understand how cultural context, trauma, and resilience influence voice. Now, as a nonprofit consultant, I continue to champion marginalized voices, helping organizations tell their own stories with clarity and purpose. Ultimately, I write for the teens, tweens, and young adults who never saw themselves in the books they loved, as well as for the adults they’re becoming. Thank you for reading The Bunny Trail series, and thank you for stopping by. Please feel free to contact me to offer your experiences and opinions--or if you just need a listening ear. I will do my best to get back so you as soon as possible. "And this book is dedicated to all young adults who are afraid to show your true colours. Never forget you are beautiful exactly as you are."
